On Nov. 12, 2025, the Dean Trailways office hosted a pancake breakfast to honor and thank the military service of veteran staff of Dean Trailways and the Dean Lansing Fleet team. This year was the second occurrence of the annual event. While the breakfast honors veterans, all drivers are invited to show support for those who served.
“Several Trailways team members and I have military service members in our families. It was important for me to honor our military service members and thank them for their service and sacrifice for our country,” said Sarah Ring, general manager for Dean Trailways. “The event provides an opportunity for camaraderie, storytelling and laughter among those who have served, and allows for the nonservice members to listen, learn and offer thanks.”
Veterans make up about 25% of the motorcoach driver team at Dean Trailways, and technicians from the Lansing Fleet team participate as well. Several military branches were represented at this year’s breakfast, with service members present from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Army National Guard. Service years spanned from 1966 to 2022.
Jeremy Brace, a motorcoach driver and Marine Corps veteran, reflected, “Getting together for the veterans breakfast reminded me why our time in uniform meant so much. We swapped stories, tossed around some good-natured branch rivalries and felt that familiar camaraderie again. Whether we’re serving our country or taking care of our customers, teamwork is what makes the job — and life — a whole lot more fun.”
