Can I complete a paper application instead of completing one online?

Paper applications are available for completion in person at our local operations sites, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

How long does an application take to complete?

The application process is designed to be user-friendly and should take approximately 25-30 minutes to complete. It captures all the essential information needed to initiate the process.

I don’t have a Commercial Driver License (CDL), can I still apply and be hired as a driver?

Absolutely. We provide all required training to help new drivers earn their Commercial Driver License (CDL) through the State of Michigan. This paid training begins upon hire and is completed within 4 to 6 weeks.

What are your criminal history guidelines?

We take confidentiality seriously and carefully review each applicant’s full work history and experience. Due to the nature of our work and the populations we serve, we are unable to accept applicants with offenses in the following categories:

  • Assault
  • Drug-related offenses
  • Weapons offenses
  • Criminal sexual conduct
  • Indecent exposure or conduct
  • Solicitation, prostitution or other immoral acts
  • Crimes involving minors, including child endangerment, child abuse or furnishing alcohol to a minor
  • Any felony convictions

We may consider certain misdemeanor offenses not related to the categories listed above, depending on the nature and timing of the offense.

Important: All applicants must disclose their complete criminal history on the application, including ordinance violations, misdemeanors and felonies. Failure to do so will result in automatic disqualification from consideration.

What are your driving history guidelines?

Non-Driving Roles
Our School Bus Attendant, Monitor and Bus Washer positions do not require driving experience, a valid license, or a clean driving record, as these roles do not involve operating vehicles.
