For almost 30 years, since the Lansing Lugnuts team was established in 1996, the Dean team has gathered at a summer baseball game. Each year, team members and their families enjoy a picnic, catch up with colleagues, snap photos with mascot Big Lug, and have good old-fashioned fun watching baseball. Dean Trailways, a charter and tour company, provides an additional connection to the Lansing Lugnuts as its official transportation partner.
This year, on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in August, more than 500 employees and their guests came together from 24 locations across the state, traveling from as far away as Traverse City, Dearborn and Holland. During the pre-game show, three employees were recognized for more than 25 years of service:
- Corie F. — Driver at Dean’s Cadillac office: 27 years of service
- Barry W. — Driver at Dean’s Lansing office: 27 years of service
- Marcella O. — Trainer at Dean’s Lansing office: 36 years of service
