Our Fleet Team

Service technicians and mechanics are the foundation of Dean’s operations, ensuring each bus meets all safety standards and providing drivers with necessary vehicle support.  

Highly knowledgeable and highly valued within our organization, service technicians provide everything from preventative and predictive maintenance to vehicle diagnostics and more.

Job Shadow for a Day

At applicable locations
  • Dean’s Fleet Department will meet with you to discuss company history, technician positions and your current goals.  
  • Engage with Fleet mentors and hear their personal testimonies.  
  • Review job responsibilities and meet the fellow Fleet Technician in other departments. 
  • Learn from mentor(s) through their basic Fleet inspection and importance. 
  • Performs visual inspections with mentor. 
  • Tour Parts Department with mentor and learn the different functions.  

Technician Trainee

At applicable locations
  • Available for those 18 years or older who have some mechanical work history but not as a full-time technician. 
  • Work alongside your fellow technicians and Fleet Trainer to learn basic inspection and maintenance practices. 
  • Study for your HD State Certifications 
  • Learn applied knowledge of brakes, suspensions/steering, diesel and gas engines and drivetrain to become a School Bus Technician. 
  • Earn affordable payroll deduction with starter set of tools and toolbox

INTERNSHIPS

Dean’s Fleet Department partners with high schools and colleges across the state to provide internship opportunities for students following specific requirements needed to pursue a Fleet career.
